Big up to everyone that was down at New Bohemia last Friday (6th June). The last one of the summer was a memorable affair - kidkanevil live show as tight as ever, great debut set from DJ Gib and the extra bonus of Laura J's live show made it a cracker. Anyway, the main news is the free instrumental album we're giving away from our new(ish) signing Eliphino. The shows keep coming at First Word. This Friday (16th) sees kidkanevil bring his live show to the amazing Music Evolution down in sunny Penzance. Should be top - check www.musicevolution.co.uk for more. If you're in Leeds, New Bohemia sees rising talent Riz MC join Monkey See Monkey Do & New Bo residents G-Kut and Eliphino. Only a couple more New Bo's left before the summer recess - Mary-Anne Hobbes next week, followed by the 2nd London New Bo (New Mastersounds, Me&You, Eric Lau & Rahel!) and kidkanevil live on the 6th June to round things off. There's also a special Bank Holiday event in conjunction with our friends at Asylum - an all dayer at The Faversham on Sunday 25th feat Crazy P, Me&You (DJ Set), kidkanevil, Hang The DJ, Best Joined Up and more. We are all shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of Jason Rae. On behalf of everyone at First Word Records we wish to extend our sincere condolences to Corinne and Jason's family.
